To mark the 100th anniversary of San Francisco City Hall, a cross-departmental committee organized a months-long campaign culminating in a large-scale celebration at Civic Center Plaza. The centennial honored the architectural, political, and civic legacy of one of the city’s most iconic buildings.
I supported the planning and fundraising effort by creating a dedicated website and producing a wide range of visual materials both digital and print to promote the centennial, recognize sponsors, and engage the public in the building’s rich history.

Website & Interactive Content
The centennial website served as the campaign’s public-facing home, providing real-time updates on events, donor acknowledgments, and historical features.
To create a strong visual identity, I photographed architectural details throughout City Hall and used those images as a central design element. I also collaborated closely with the City Hall Historian to develop an interactive timeline tracing the building’s 100-year history from its Beaux-Arts origins to landmark civic moments. The timeline became one of the site’s most popular and enduring features.
Collaboration & Production
Designing for a campaign of this scale required close collaboration across departments. I worked hand-in-hand with San Francisco Reprographics, the city’s internal print production team, to ensure that visual materials for fundraising events and public outreach met high standards for quality and consistency.
Together, we produced a full suite of print materials including formal invitations, event programs, and donor recognition pieces. These were used throughout the campaign’s fundraising phase and at major planning events. We also developed branded signage and large-format display boards for use at press conferences and public exhibits, and I created official campaign templates to support consistent messaging across all sponsor acknowledgments and collateral.
These pieces were distributed citywide and used in formal fundraising settings throughout the planning period.

Advertising & Public Visibility
As the celebration drew closer, I designed a suite of public-facing materials to build excitement and raise awareness throughout the city. This included large-format bus ads and Muni car cards that appeared across major transit routes, offering broad daily exposure to commuters and visitors alike.

In the Civic Center area, I designed vertical lamp post banners that lined the streets surrounding City Hall, creating a visible and festive lead-up to the main event. Additionally, I created print advertisements for local newspapers and city publications, ensuring that key campaign messages including event dates and donor recognition reached a wide and diverse audience in both formal and casual reading contexts.
The Celebration
The campaign culminated into a celebration festival in Civic Center Plaza, featuring live performances, historical exhibits, and speeches honoring City Hall’s legacy. The event marked the end of months of cross-agency planning and creative collaboration — much of it anchored by the visual and digital work that helped tell the story, recognize supporters, and bring the public into the celebration.
